THE DETAILS MATTER

THE DETAILS MATTER

THE FIT

There is nothing like your first bespoke suit and telling your tailor exactly what you need. However, buying a made to measure suit or a ready to wear suit off the rack is fine as long as you are getting it tailored for custom adjustments for a great fit for your body type.  There are some easy tips to keep in mind when you are looking for a great fit.  Your jacket should fit flat on your shoulder and it should close with the top button without any wrinkles or strain. Your sleeve length should never hide your shirt sleeve a half inch is just perfect. A good fit on a jacket means having the right jacket length. The collar of your suit jacket should be fitted to your neck, watch out for collar gap. Key decisions to make include, single breasted or double breasted, besom or flap pockets, taper, no vent, single vent, double vent, cuffs or no cuffs.

THE FABRIC

There are several fabulous fabrics to choose from and it can often be overwhelming to make a selection.  It is important to think about the three seasons and the best fabrics for a tailored suit. A luxurious and lightweight very fine wool is ideal for all three seasons.

THE STATEMENT PIECE

A dark two piece suit is always in style, whether it’s black, navy or dark grey.  For Spring you may consider investing in a light two piece suit, dove grey or pale blue. Every season you should try to invest in a few statement pieces in your wardrobe. Perhaps it could be a pastel blazer combined with a crisp white shirt.  Coloured lens aviator sunglasses are now back in trend. Patterned suits make a bold statement. The perfect shoes along with a high end trench coach, luxurious scarf, and a theme umbrella can make a statement. Cufflinks take your look up a level. The ultimate luxury logo is your own initials.

THE ACCESSORIES

Every man should own a good quality stylish leather wallet and a luxury watch is the ultimate accessory, elegant timepieces with craftsmanship at its finest.  And yes, the tie has come a long way. Explore different types of knots, distinctive patterns or solids with different widths from classic to edgy and pure swank. An elevated bag or briefcase ties your look together as the classic executive.

GLASSES

According to GQ the best glasses for men have you channel your inner Clark Kent.  The number one trend in eyewear seems to be the aviators.  Thick frames in matte black are also in.  Square, heart shaped and round make sure they match your colour pallet and are perfect for your face shape.

HAIR

Still trending is the classic business man’s haircut that suits every shape face. Stylish and practical. The crew haircut is for those who don’t want to fuss. The pompadour haircut is a perfect style when you want to make a great impression in your business meetings.
